Decorative kale
Kale can be quite delicious if you cook it right, but this kind is just for pretty, as my mom used to say. A local nursery had such a nice collection. It’s practically a flower, don’t you think?
Visit Macro Friday for more macros of all kinds. This one is SOOC, or straight out of the camera. And as usual, if there’s just one photo here, click on Sara’s Fave Photos for the full blog.
I like the lighting on this post a lot so I’ve put it in the Best Post of the Week category. I hope you agree.

I always thought this type of Kale was just ornamental! Whaddayaknow?! So beautiful-the colors and texture!

Well, I understand that it is not as tender and delicious as regular kale, as it is bred for looks, but you can eat it if you want to.

Sara: A truly beautiful and amazing shot. I personally feel more gardeners should
consider the use of decorative vegetables. After all it’s the flip-side, as it were, of
edible flowers. Also,a lot of color value is available at a time when it is almost non-existant–not only that it is decorative indoors as well[you already knew that!],to say nothing about being delicious as well.Try Kale mixed with spinach&beet-tops,
slow-simmered with a smoked hock sometime.I am digressing a bit here,but such
is my nature. At any rate,a GREAT shot for grey November.Take care,Sara.
