Bare branches at Spring Lake, CA
Even bare branches can look good when there’s water, sunshine, and reflections involved. This January view of the lake in Spring Lake Park in Santa Rosa, California, was something that will look quite different in just a few months.

I’ve decided I like the almost lace-like texture of the black branches very much and am naming this post my Best Post of the Week. If you see only the one photo below, do click on Sara’s Fave Photos for the rest of them.

Lovely — I am in an ice world this morning.
Beautiful scene, the reflections are gorgeous! Happy WW!
Lovely shot
A very lovely scene with branches framing a watery view beyond!
I love how the fiery color are the background to the branches in the foreground. Great shot.
This is a wonderful shot. A little bit of everything, nicely composed.
great capture, nice composition and i just love how the twigs added texture to the scenic background.
Really nice photo! I’ve been there, but it’s been a long time…
I just love the way the reflection is so colourful behind the black web of branches… Nice work !
Thanks for sharing your blues.
Happy Blue Monday, Sara.
Oh, I like the bare branches too. But even more when they start to turning green.
