My love is like a red, red rose
Well, my hubby’s love, anyway. I love being able to receive a bunch of beautiful flowers at least once in awhile. Flowers are a feast for the senses and for the sense of mystery they engender. Why do we love them so much? They have such brief beauty, and then to the compost pile, but they comfort and delight us so. Have you ever noticed that so many people give each other flowers on important occasions? Why is that? But they are magical, and their meaning always seems just beyond words. So here is an image, instead.
I am honored to be Guest Friend on Today’s Flowers today! The great team there headed by Santilli – Denise – Pupo – Sandy Carlson gives the world more beautiful flowers.
Visit Macro Friday, Macro Flowers Saturday, Color Carnival, Ruby Tuesday and Shadow Shot Sunday for more intriguing images.
Try clicking around in Free Photos for some interesting photos, too. And if there is only the red rose below, Sara’s Fave Photos here or above has the rest.

A PARFAIT DAY
A seeker of shadows one day
Did trip as she went on her way;
She picked herself up
And dipped from a cup
Of shadowy lemon parfait!

That is lovely!
My shadow shot
Rich and soft folds of petals creating fragile shadow wonders! Stunningly beautiful!
Perhaps the fragility of the flowers along with their beauty compels us to give. The beauty won’t last long, so in the here-and-now, we share as the flower’s time is short. Bunches of fragrant roses are so nice, to give them is truly as mugh fun as receiving them…
Beautiful Sara! I Love red roses! But then who doesn’t? Their classic beauty and the gorgeous fragrance just shouts LOVE to me! Lucky you to have received such beautiful flowers. And lucky us in having you share them 🙂
Simply beautiful! who doesn’t love rose, almost everybody does,,
Beautiful photo, beautiful rose. You’ve made me think and I too wonder why the flower is the best gift to receive. Yes, even for a man. I’d love to receive flowers more often. Nothing like a flower and a candle on th dinner table to join me in my feast.
Very Nice!
Peace.
Beautiful! Shadows within the depths of a rose!
Perhaps our love of flowers caused by the fact that they, like we, are here only for a while. Although our own lives are short, relatively speaking, we should bloom where we are planted, and bring color and joy to the lives of others.
A beautiful colour and perfect bloom.
You captured the depths of the flower.
this is simply gorgeous.
Lovely rose! And a beautiful photo. Happy Ruby Tuesday!
Incredible beauty!!

Do you live alife like “LA vie en rose”? Flowers are necessary for human life. they heal our mind very much. I want to name them “Vitamin F”.
Hi Sara,
I was away for 2 weeks and didn’t know about the voting, however, your red rose gets my vote, any time.
