Succulent shadows
From the memory of a sunny day, here’s a succulent (but not a cactus, I don’t think) basking in some July sunshine. I was looking through my archives, working on my new book of photos (hint: it has something to do with the Volunteer Park Conservatory) and saw this photo in my archive. Perfect for Macro Friday, Shadow Shot Sunday, Cactus Monday and Macro Monday as well!

Neat shadows, Sara! I like the angles they create crossing over the leaves.
I have this exact same plant and don’t know the name of it! lovely shadows Sara. happy SSS, and have a great weekend.
This is a lovely cactus, the mint green leaves beautifully pointed. I see a new leaf sprouting, which is lovely too. The shadows are unlike the leaves as they are not straight but curve around in arcs almost like a pinwheel. So artistic and stylish a pose!
That’s nice. I am loving the contrast of the green leaves and the darkness of the shadows. All accentuated by the curves of the leaves.
From the title of your post, I thought I was going to see a tasty, shadowy treat!

Sweet! It somehow gives the impression of motion as the shadow appears to me like a propeller blade whirling around! Love the vibrant green of the plant too! Enjoy your weekend Sara 🙂

What an interesting array of shadows each layer leaves below it!

Beautiful shot of this succulent. It is not a cactus. I believe that it is a variety of aloe! Lovely shadows on this shot! HCM!
I love the way the shadows play on each other so beautifully.
