Dungeness Recreation Area at dusk
I just felt like revisiting and sharing this scene, from a camping trip we took last August to the Dungeness Recreation Area near Sequim (pronounced skwim) on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. This area gets much, much more sunshine than the surrounding areas including Seattle, let alone the rainforest. There is a simple trail along the bluff over the water that is astoundingly scenic. The water is Puget Sound, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, I believe, with Canada a short bit across the water to the right. I hope you enjoy this vista. I like it so much I’m calling it my Best Post of the Week.

Awesome! I’ve always wanted to get out early enough to catch the mist rising off the water some where.
Beautiful colours.

very nice..it has a haunting quality.
Great picture, very beautiful.
Oh this one is pretty. Nice and peaceful!
Beautiful! I love the mist!
Lovely shot of the foggy sound! We went to Lavender Festival in Sequim last year, and can’t wait to go back:-)
Bella
The fog rolling in is extremely impressive. You did a great job with your camera.
My, it has been a joy visiting two of your pink shows. Great job.
Beautiful. I love the soft muted colors. Found you through Best Posts of the Week, and I’m so happy that I did.
Wow! I like how there’s no specific identifiable features, so it could be anywhere! I guess that’s what gives it universal appeal!!
just beautiful!!
Sequim! Now you’ve told a whole bunch of non-native PNWers how to pronounce it — how are we going to tell who the interlopers are ‘>)… We used to camp in that area — it’s a rainshadow place — where it can be nasty all around, but sunshine there.
Lovely pictures.
