Pink and yellow lupines
Lupines don’t last all that long, although if you deadhead them (remove the spent flowers) they can rebloom a bit. This amazing patch of them is in a neighbor’s yard. The other afternoon when it was sunny late in the day, I knew the light would be perfect for taking photos of them, so I hustled up the hill and there they were, in their glory. That was just a week or so ago, and this perfect peak has passed now. But the photo lives on!
As you’ve probably noticed, this photo is similar to the lupine header photo. It’s hard finding header photos that work in a very skinny slice! I thought you wouldn’t mind seeing a more rectangular composition of the same scene.

They are gorgeous, Sara! We don’t have a lot of lupines around here, but I am learning to appreciate their quirky shape!
Sweet, sweet lupines, what a beautiful share Sara, thank you.
Oh…they are just gorgeous. Now with that terrific photo, you can look at them long past their prime.
Nice Lupines. Late visit from MYM. HERE is my entry. Thanks and hope to see you around!

You were right about the afternoon light. Great opportunity for a wonderful warm photo! Beautiful lupines.
So beautiful! Isn’t it great that we have photos of the memories we wish to keep reliving!
Those are absolutely gorgeous!!! Nice photo! Mickie 😉
Wonderful composition. Excellent capture.
Beautiful shots. First time I’ve seen these. Happy RT!
Mine’s here.
Lovely. Really beautiful detail.
Wow this is amazing! I cannot for the life of me grow Lupines, mine are at least ten years old and look like the day I planted them…spindly and only 3 ever pop up!
Lovely post!
Terry
Are these planted in anything special?

I love lupines. I had a lot of the blue/purple ones but they have sort of disappeared. I’ll have to get more!
Wow…amazing flowers….might have to hunt some of these down. Great photo too.

I have never seen these plants. They are very pretty and make a very nice showing.
Wow! Amazing carnival of colors!
Beautiful healthy looking lupines. Mine never seem to grow.
Awesome, Sara! I LOVE lupines. 🙂
Wow lupins, these are the flowers i love. I saw them for the first time in Sweden and love them ever since, there are also lots of colors already growing as weeds on marginal lands. It’s unfortunate, they dont thrive in hot and dry areas like here!
Oh wow, also gorgeous!
