Sunlight on a forest path
Camping! Can you just smell the woodsmoke? We love to get out in the woods for a few days and smell actual fresh air, day and night. Even a trek through the campground to the facilities can be a lovely experience. A warm day in August in the Pacific Northwest is like no other. I love the range of light to darks, with the blue sky peeping through, and I’m calling this my Best Post of the Week.
Visit Shadow Shot Sunday, Outdoor Wednesday, Scenic Sunday, and this week the theme of Unique Exposures Weekend Challenge is 100 Years Old (or more). It’s pretty close to qualifying for SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera) but I did adjust the curves just a tad, so it doesn’t. But take a look there anyway. Remember, if there is only one photo below, click on Sara’s Fave Photos for the others. Thank you for visiting!
Oh I adore woods and this looks an especially beautiful one. Gorgeous dappled shadows. I can smell the woodsmoke and would love to come for lunch. Happy SSS.
What a gorgeous spot to go walking with your camera in tow. Love the shadows….one fine capture.So lush and green. genie
A shadowy jungle!!
Wow, definitely treking through this at night time would be a challenge. lol
Looks absolutely gorgeous.
It’s been a while since I’ve had an opportunity to explore deep woods like these, so I’ll content myself with conjuring up memories sparked by your photo!
IF I HAD A SHADOW
If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:
My shadow would save me from dragons and things
That fly in the night with terrible wings;
My shadow would keep me away from the beast
That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east,
Hungry for children who play all alone,
Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;
My shadow would be my protector and knight
To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.
I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!

Very nice photo.

Beautiful photos. (All your posts!)
Sara, I couldn’t agree more with August in the Pacific NW. The warm days and cooler nights make it perfect! We enjoyed a bit of the outdoors this past weekend too! Your photo captures the essence of the outdoors; beautiful!
I have always enjoyed walking through the woods in the daylight, but not at night I would not like camping there either.
When I was in primary school, my bro and I and a friend went to a place like this and made a little hut, and we had great fun, until we were bursted by another boy whose mum told on our mum. Thise were the days where there were communists, and Mum told us the soldiers could shoot us mistaking us to be communists.
