Boat ramp
I’m still not ready to let summer go. In August we went on a brief camping trip on the Olympic Peninsula (Western Washington) and visited this little lake, Wildcat Lake. Boat ramps intrigue me. When I first saw one as a child, I didn’t know what it was and was mystified. A road into the lake? How strange. I still think they are evocative, you might say. Just waltz right in . . .

They are interesting, indeed. Definitely look like roads into the lake. I am with you on summer; I’m not quite ready to let it go, either. But right now it’s not cold yet, so I’m still good 🙂
Happy WW!
Very cool. I love how you captured the boat launch as disappears under the water. Good job.
while I am totally ready to let summer go, I totally understand your fondness for boat ramps. very nice..
I love the shot!
Unfortunately, I let go of summer back in late July … lol!
So not a summer person!
Beautiful shot.
Sydney – City and Suburbs
Boat ramps are strange things, when you stop to think about it, especially to non-boaters. Now, if you can explain why there is a boat ramp into the pond near my house – it is 150 yards long, and goes from 50 to 15 yards wide. And there are a lot of places so shallow that you can tell the geese are standing, not swimming. I just use it to get close to the water…
Cool shot. I agree… something evocative, or perhaps provocative? Not really sure, but definitely interesting.
what a lovely inviting shot….
Nice! Makes me want to get my kayak out of storage. :0) Happy SSS.
Why ever let summer go? Relive it always in your heart!
SHADOW, SHADOW
(With apologies to William Blake)
Shadow, shadow lurking dark
In a corner of the park,
What immortal eye can see
Your transcendent symmetry?

Very nice post. It was a most pleasant visit with you.
This is an awesome picture….I think I’m favoring it even more because we have no water left here in Texas lol. My boys just went camping at the state park last night, and they told me they were digging into the mud trying to find catfish hidden….OUT IN THE LAKE. You’re picture is beautiful.
This is an interesting photo – really love how your eyes kind of wade into the water following the ramp. Lovely.
I love how your photos captures the ramp going under the lake. Beautiful.
Hope you are having a nice Fall up there. Recently, I was along the Missouri River when it was flooded Northn of Kansas City. All the roads off of the main highway went straight into the water. It was a very strange site!. Nice shot . Looks peaceful and you know I like….
Peace
A boatramp gets my imagination spinning, what if there is something down there……
I like your composition and I wish summer could last a bit longer
I love how it disappears into the water. Our summer is now turned into fall…while I am enjoying the cooler temps n gorgeous colors, I am not looking forward to what is just around the corner!!!! OLD MAN WINTER…brrrrrrr
What a pretty view of the lake, it is neat to see the boat ramp disappear into the water. Great photo and composition! Happy Scenic Sunday!
A little different from most of the boat ramps I’ve seen. Looks like a beautiful location.
What a serene and lovely capture. Nice composition and study of textures.
we went to the beach and walked 2 hours. It was hard walking because of the mud. saw many private boat ramps.
What an awesome naturescene.
stunning view and photo.
How restful and blue.
Happy Blue Monday to you, Sara!
So beautiful!
Please come and peek at my blue when you get a chance. Have a lovely week!
Boat ramps dominate my Mornington Peninsula world but I still find them fascinating! I love watching boats being let loose from cars and set floating on the water! Lovely scene!
Beautiful ruby!
My Ruby Tuesday, please come and see. Thanks and have a nice day!
very pleasant, I wish I’m there 🙂
