Poinsettia and lights at the Conservatory
I was at the lighting ceremony at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory last night, and it was exciting to see that amazing structure outlined in lights. I had never been there at night and it was strange to see “my” beloved flowers and plants in the almost spooky shadows. Of course I had to take a photo anyway. Here’s a pretty poinsettia for you, and the lights!

I love Poinsettias! Good captures.
like a palace 😉 wonderful
The lights cheer my heart, the poinsettia my soul.
EVERYWHERE SHADOWS
Shadows above and shadows below,
Shadows that blaze and shadows that glow;
Shadows outside and shadows indoors,
Shadows on trees and shadows on floors;
Everywhere shadows calling my name,
Everywhere shadows no one can tame.

beautiful photos! the lighted conservatory looks very Christmassy.:p
i have a potted poinsettia as a “Christmas tree”.
The lights at the conservatory are divine. We are hopeful that weather conditions will allow us to visit Longwood Gardens in Philadelphia this Christmas when we go up to Maryland to see my daughter. Last year we were going and we had a huge ice and snow storm in MD. They are supposed to put on a spectacular light show at Christmas. I know your visit must have been a lovely one.genie
