Daffodil buds in sunlight
Daffodils have such great buds. I love the way they look like tapered fingertips with green fingernails. Maybe? Anyway, their strong reach towards the weak late winter sunshine is so much appreciated. They are promising springtime!
Lovely places to visit include Scenic Sunday, Today’s Flowers, Macro Monday, Macro Flowers Saturday, Weekend Flowers, Floral Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, Shadow Shot Sunday 2 and SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera). Thank you for visiting!

I wish we were seeing these right now. Overnight snow but it’ll be gone by day’s end.

Love the daffys too. This photo is a good one of them pointing to the sun with those green fingernails! (What a great word picture you painted!!) I bought 3 dozen daffy stems for on the table on Monday and they’re all withered already. Sheesh. Normally they last a long time since I keep our place at icebox temps! Happy SSS.

One thing you might check for next time is whether the vase was truly clean. Sometimes they get a film on them inside and it’s so easy to just ignore it, fill with water and put the stems in. Use a brush or a little bit of bleach or whatever, but make sure the container is CLEAN. Those bacteria lurking in the film really clog stems.
I’ve also heard of using a flame to sear the stems but have never done it. Thanks again for visiting my blog,
Sara
