Lavender Fall Crocus
This might not really be a crocus, but that’s what they are usually called. The scientific name is Colchicum. These bulbs appear in early fall, with buds first and no leaves showing, and the splash of color is so welcome in the garden when not much else is blooming. These are from my garden, just a couple of weeks ago.

Oh my! What a fabulous capture – the petals look like crepe paper!
I like these, Sara, and I especially like that they bring some early Autumn color. I’ll be checking to see how they do in our zone.

So beautiful Sara! Thank you for linking up with the simple things this week. 🙂
I would love having one of these gorgeous flowers.
I’m always surprised to see fall crocuses/croci.. From one Autumn to the next I never do remember that there’s a Fall version of what I think of as a Spring flower. Lovely picture; delicate shade of lavender.
Woow….really beautiful 🙂

I love the way the sun streams through the petals!!
I would not have known these were not a crocus. Another reason to enjoy flowers from all over the world. You learn so much. Thanks again Sara, I do enjoy your photos immensely.
