Damsel fly
At the Grant County Fair in central Washington we saw this damsel fly perched on a vendor booth. It was about 2 inches or 5cm across. I don’t usually like photos of insects but I’ll make an exception for this one.
Joining up at Nature Notes Wednesday, NF Winged Thursday, Monday Mellow Yellows, Macro Monday, I Heart Macro Saturday, Camera Critters, Skywatch Friday,ย A Piece of Heaven, Outdoor Wednesday, and if anyone knows of a photo meme about flight or flying, I’d like to know about it. Thanks!
So glad you made an exception!!! I love the damselfly with the sky as a background!!! You seldom see that angle!
What a great way to view the sky and what a fantastic shot of the damsel fly.
This is the most beautiful creature I know, but they’re not easy to capture on a photo! I wish I could take a photo like yours ๐
Awesome photo!

What a great shot. Insects can be very beautiful if you take a closer look at them. I’m glad you decided to photograph this one.
Super view from below. So glad you made an exception this time.
Fantastic fine tuned details and sensational shot.
so beautiful Sara… she would be lovely to share with I Heart Macro too!
Great shot!
Gorgeous critter!
Look at those beautiful wings!
So glad you shared Sara, really a beautiful photo!
Just lovely.
Your shot of the wings of the damsel fly is incredible, so sharp and clear. I love photos of dragonflies and damsel flies, they are so fascinating. I like to see them flying back and forth, eating mosquitoes.
Great photo, such an exquisite creature. How did you manage those transparent wing? Beautiful.
Amazing shot, I would never even think to take that shot but this is spectacular
That is an A+ shot…
