California poppy
California poppies (the State Flower of California) are so beautiful in their simplicity. Very pretty and dependable in the garden, but reseed almost too easily. I deadhead to keep them from taking over.

Arija, actually, a few are still going. Most are done, but Seattle has had an exceptionally fine summer this year and the flowers still look good.

They are beautiful! Love the light as well as the colour. The first time I heard of Californian Poppy was when I was a child and men used California Poppy hair oil (showing my age here!). Thanks for sharing on Mandarin Orange Monday:)
