Orange flamingos
I know flamingos are supposed to be pink, but the ones I saw in Florida a couple of years ago seemed maybe more orange. Posting just for fun on this gray Seattle day.

Such beautiful elegant birds, Sara, I saw that at Flamingo Gardens in Florida too. I think their colour is affected by what they eat!

Lovely photo. The flamingos I’ve seen have always been much paler and more pink. #mysundaysnap

Such a beautiful colour aren’t they, I remember the first time I saw Flamingoes thinking how much more vibrant they were than I had imagined.

That is such a cool photo, especially with the reflections of these beautiful creatures in the water!

Fun when going to the zoo to see the flamingos, and I they do add some color to our dreary snow weather here in Ohio. Thanks for sharing.

My only experience with flamingos was wonderful…we were at the San Diego Zoo in California, and saw one of the keepers taking all the flamingos for a walk. They were so well-behaved, one might say dignified. I fell in love immediately, but haven’t met any flamingos since then. They are scarce up here in Alberta.

I’m sure I read somewhere that a flamingo’s colour was down to the food they ate. Most likely I have been fooled by an urban myth!
