Yellow brugmansia
Like my last post, this photo was taken exactly ten years ago at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory. I hear the fragrance in the evenings was incredible.
These flowers are so elegant and graceful, but I found it surprisingly difficult to get a photo that showed it. I hope this one succeeded.

That’s lovely., I don’t think it grows in this area – I wonder how it would fare in a pot as an annual?

It’s frost tender, for sure. I have one in my Seattle home but must take it inside in the winter. Mine doesn’t look as good as these, however!

That’s a lovely photo. It looks very much like a plant that grows here that has a lovely perfume and is hallucinogenic. We used to call it the trumpet plant.

Yes, brugmansia is a cousin of datura. The difference is that datura blossoms are upright, and brugmansia, also called Angels Trumpet, hang down. Thank you for visiting and commenting!
