Thanksgiving cactus flower
I know that usually these are all called Christmas cactus, but the points on the leaves mean it’s Schlumbergera truncata, or Thanksgiving cactus, and not Schlumbergera bridgesii. I am happy to report it is blooming the proper time, not that I do anything special to it. I have several different colors and they all seem to be liking the indoor weather this year.

Beautiful blooms, Sarah! Are these the same as the Christmas cactus? Had to leave mine behind in California so on Sunday I bought a small white and a pink one, to have them for the Nov. and Dev, holidays (yeah, for Dutch people New Years eve is more than fireworks!) Thank you for sharing your blooms with All Seasons, and have a great week, Jesh
Yes, there are basically three similar kinds, and this Thanksgiving kind has points on the leaves and blooms earlier. There’s Christmas and also Easter cactus as well. The flowers are the same. So glad you got one for yourself! Have a great holiday and stay safe. Thanks for your visits here and your wonderful comments. Much appreciated.
Your plants like making shadows, don’t they?
They are so pretty! The succulents and cacti are a non fussy group; just give them the right environment and they will keep you happy with spectacular blooms.
Thank you for pointing out the difference between different Schlumbergera varieties. I did not know. I have two in white, probably Christmas cacti. Your cacti look beautiful.
Whether Thanksgiving or the Christmas type I find them really beautiful.
Beautiful capture of Thanks giving cactus ! It would be my pleasure if you share your post related to gardening here at http://jaipurgardening.blogspot.com/2020/11/garden-affair-rose.html
What a pretty addition to the season!
I’m so happy to see your link at ‘My Corner of the World’ this week!
