Backyard light
The days are getting shorter. A view of my backyard in the late afternoon light. Love those leek flower balls!

I’ve never seen leek flowers – they remind me of allium, which is in the same general family (I think).

Leeks are definitely in the allium family, like onions and scallions. Those ball flowers are a definite giveaway. Thanks for visiting!

Such big flowers of the leek! This is the first time after a few decades that we have grass in Sept. that is green.

I used to grow leeks every year and one time we went away for a longer holiday. I was amazed when I saw the leek bed full of huge flowers when got back!

Lovely and serene shot. Onions and their family always put on a show if you let them 🙂
