Pink ladies
Pink ladies are a kind of amaryllis (amaryllis Belladona) hardy in my zone 8b. I recently removed a tree that was shading these pink ladies and they finally feel like blooming. They are very fragrant. Their foliage comes up in the winter and dies back, but the flower stalks emerge with no leaves in August, which is why they are sometimes called naked ladies. In parts of Northern California you can see fabulous, huge banks of them naturalized along roadsides.

Your pink ladies are very pretty
Positively stunning! I’d love to have some of those in our garden!

Brings back memories for me. I used to get my granddad an Amarylis bulb every year and always tried for a different one than the previous year. Ironically he always got red. LOL
What a lovely plant to grow in your garden.
So beautiful!
Here in New England (USA) I force an Amarylis bulb at Christmas time. They would never make it through our cold and snowy winters. They do look so pretty in bloom though. We always look forward to them in December.
These pink ladies are cousins of the Christmas amaryllis bulbs, which cannot take any freezing weather. But these can, somewhat. Thanks for visiting and commenting!
These are the first pink Amaryllis I have seen. They are so pretty! Are these as big as the red-orange kind so popular in December?
Enjoy your weekend! Emille (Jesh)
Your pink ladies are beautiful. This plant was totally unknown to me.
Lovely Iris Flowers ! Thanks for sharing with Garden Affair.
