Grape hyacinth buds
These blue-purple flowers grow so well in my Seattle garden, gently spreading every year. This stage is just the buds, getting started.

I planted some of these years ago and they still bloom every spring and spread as well. I never knew their name . Love your photo.
I love to see grape hyacinths, and as you say, they spread without overpowering everything else.
