Sweetpeas, lilies and snaps
Thought I’d give you a vision of July flowers on this gray January day. Going through the archives to upload more photos into Free Photos “next door” (do check it out, or subscribe in that section, to see what’s new), I came across this shot of part of my front garden in my last house. I love flowers; can you tell? One of the things that happened in the four years or so we lived there is that our neighbors began to plant more flowers, and they said that we had inspired them. That felt good, and looked good, too!

Did you see the enormous long stemmed sweetpeas from Japan that were on the Martha Stewart show?
That is very pretty, I sure am missing spring/summer right now in the dead of winter and all this cold!
Gorgeous Sara! It must have been hard to move away from all that beauty (and all the work you put in).
Pat, no, I missed that. But it’s almost time to plant sweetpeas. Just nick the seeds with nail scissors, soak them for a day and they’ll get all puffy and ready, then plant them with LOTS of manure in a location protected from hot sun and they will be very happy plants.
And Sallie, no, it wasn’t. I like creating the garden and actually doing it, and you always learn something you’ll do better in the next space.
Dew Drops, thanks for your comment!
