I took this photo off Coleman Valley Road near Occidental, in Northern California, so long ago, but I came across it and wanted to share it. The road is very curvy, the view like nothing in the world (although I have heard that landscape compared to the Cornish England area) and sometimes the fog filled up the low parts like this. Have you ever seen anything like it?

I just love the way the water droplets (this is Seattle, after all) look like rubies on the leaves. This was on a walk just a week or two ago. At least I got the bulbs planted before the recent deluge.

Maybe it’s because I just finished planting over 400 spring bulbs, but tulips are on my mind. These tulips are so happy in the bright sun and shadows they cast. For more ways to see shadows, click HERE.

We have two columnar apple trees. They are about a foot wide and four feet tall, and have full size apples, so amazing. This from last year around this time. Happy Ruby Tuesday, all! Join the fun by posting a photo with red in it HERE.

When thinking shadows, it’s hard not to think of my visit to Arizona near Sedona early last year. I had just gotten a digital camera and pretty much went crazy, taking jillions of photos. Here are two from that trip, with shadows as key parts of the photos. For more shadow interpretations coordinated by Hey Harriet’s great blog, click HERE.

Last year I went to Burning Man, an extreme arts festival, you might say, on the playa in Black Rock, Nevada. It was way too hot, too huge and too difficult to do anything but lie there and pant, but at least I took photos. Here’s a rainbow, just for Skywatch Friday. You can see more skies around the world HERE.

The leaves are turning, the sky is brilliant. Nothing like it, is there? Click HERE for more Skywatch Friday photos from around the world. Or perhaps post one of your own?

It’s early fall in Seattle, so how can you do Ruby Tuesday with anything except leaves? Although the great thing about this idea is that people around the world have their own interpretation. Click HERE to see other Ruby Tuesdays. This is from our walk in the Aboretum. It was so funny to see three or even four photographers aiming at the same red tree!

Here are a few photos from our walk yesterday. The third photo’s tree looked like some kind of exotic cherry, but I don’t know what it is. The middle is japanese maple leaves.

Here in Seattle it’s drizzly and gray, so I went back to my Arizona trip photos for a beautiful sky to post for today. This was taken not too far from Sedona. For more fascinating views of skies around the world, click HERE.
