These birds were migrating in late August off the coast of Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest. You can see the surfers in wetsuits in the water, too. It went on like this for the longest time. Uncountable number of birds.

We got a new hummingbird feeder and it’s sort of a half-tube shape (the back of it is flat against the glass) that attaches to the window with a suction cup. The window faces south, so now winter sun comes in on a sunny day. Look what was on the carpet yesterday!

Another benefit is that the warmth of the house through the windowglass is keeping the sugar water melted, even in this awful arctic weather we’ve been having.

On the way up to Camano Island, north of Seattle in Washington, for a past Thanksgiving dinner we passed this river and the Cascade Mountains behind it. Can you see the tiny specks of all the birds resting on the water?
