Boat wake

It was only last month that we went crabbing in our friends’ 28-foot boat in the waters off Anacortes, Washington, but it does seem farther back than that. Summer’s weather was so gray and dismal that the rare blue skies that day were a total thrill. This photo reminds me of the clear air and great watery smell up there. Vrooom!

Visit Watery Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday, plus Scenic Sunday, Skywatch Friday and Blue Monday, if you’d like to see more neat photos on those themes. There’s also SOOC Sunday for straight-out-of-the-camera shots like this one.

As long as you’re here, you might as well try a tag like “water” to see more of my own photos with water in them. You can always return to the latest post here by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos.

Even though there are several photos I posted this week that I really like, I think the sense of motion and distance in this one makes it my fave for the week. Plus the sunshine and water, of course—so I’m tagging it my Best Post of the Week.

Autumn leaves looking upwards

There’s nothing like a walk on a sunny day in autumn. I happened to look up and saw these leaves glittering in the sunlight. Some even seem to be heart-shaped!

Visit Macro Monday and Mellow Yellow Monday for more close ups and more yellow.

You can search here for whatever you’d like to find, or just a click on a tag or category can yield lots of fun. But to find the very latest post, click on Sara’s Fave Photos.

Autumn tree and blue sky

It’s amazing how euphoric a sunny day with blue skies can make me feel. I believe the trees revel in it, also. This fall scene in Wallingford, a neighborhood in Seattle, just makes me happy when I look at it. I hope it makes you feel good, too.

Visit Skywatch Friday for more skies around the world. Scenic Sunday has more great scenery. Blue Monday has more photos with blue in them. Color Carnival has more bright colors. And SOOC has more straight-out-of-the-camera shots.

Browse around here first, if you have time. You might try the “autumn” tag, for starters. And to get to the latest post (if you’ve arrived via a link) do click on Sara’s Fave Photos.

Golf course lake

Nothing like a golf course for scenic vistas, all ready to photograph. I don’t play the game much myself, but I love to tag along if I can with my camera. This was taken in Kent, Washington. Bet there are a lot of golf balls in the bottom of that water!

Visit Skywatch Friday, Weekend Reflections, SOOC (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday and Blue Monday for more ideas on a theme. While you’re here, though, please do browse around a bit. You might see what a tag-click of “water” or “reflections” brings up. And you can always get to the latest blog post by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos, here or above.

Sunset over Dungeness Bay

From our August camping trip at Sequim, Washington (in the north Olympic Peninsula)—a misty sunset for you. Can’t you just smell the clean air?

Visit Skywatch Friday for skies seen around the world, Scenic Sunday for great scenery, SOOC for straight-out-of-the-camera shots, and Weekend Reflections for very cool visual reflections.

You can always get to the latest post and the full blog by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos here or above. And try something you haven’t seen yet. How about the “Waterscape” category?

Little waves

I was at the Normandy Park cove with my dear cousin and it was calm and peaceful there at the shore of Puget Sound. Perhaps you’d like to hear the little waves splash on the beach?

Visit Watery Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday for more photos on a theme. I hope it’s OK to link to them with a video instead of a still photo.

Sky and Puget Sound view

Down in Des Moines, WA, visiting the friend with the colorful dishes below, across the street is an amazing view, and what could be better than clouds and water in the bright sun?

Visit Skywatch Friday for more fabulous skies, Blue Monday for all things blue, and Scenic Sunday, too.

Island shadow

That crabbing expedition out from Anacortes, WA last week yielded some yummy crabs and some neat photos, too. Here’s another island, casting its shadow upon the water.

Do visit Shadow Shot Sunday for more interesting shadows of all kinds, Scenic Sunday for scenery and Weekend Reflections, too. And before you go, maybe the category of Waterscape has some neat photos you’ve never seen. Click on Sara’s Fave Photos for the latest post here.

Gazebo

Our recent visit to Anacortes, WA to go crabbing with friends was topped off by a lovely late-day stroll from the Cap Sante marina to a nearby gazebo. There’s no way it shows up at this resolution, but there’s actually a line of birds flying low in the sky near the gazebo. I love the light at this time of day. It’s brief, but everything looks like it is dipped in gold.

Visit Scenic Sunday for other scenic shots. And you might try the “scenic” tag while you are here, first. If you’ve arrived from a link or search engine, be sure to click on Sara’s Fave Photos above for the latest post.

I like this photo very, very much. I might frame it. Anyway, I’ve tagged it Best Post of the Week.

Harbor seals

These are so pretty, aren’t they? I didn’t have a strong zoom lens and you can’t get too close without scaring them off the rocks, our boat captain (hi Chuck!) told us, so here’s a group portrait of harbor seals for you, taken on the waters off Anacortes, WA.

Watery Wednesday has amazing water photos of all sorts, Outdoor Wednesday has outdoor shots and Camera Critters, well, you get the idea. Also, Scenic Sunday and Weekend Reflections are well worth visiting.

Browse around here in a new search, tag or category. Water, perhaps? And you can always return to the latest post by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos above.
