Bowman Bay at Deception Pass in Washington is an incredibly scenic place where you can camp right near the water. We were there last year at this time, and this photo is a companion to the one I posted from that trip here. I love this post and am calling it my Best Post of the Week.

The best part of our little getaway to Seaside, Oregon was watching the surfers right from our cottage on Sunset Cove. It was amazing. I realized that surfing is much, much harder than I thought, for one thing. Here’s a little video of this oh-so-scenic cove.

The town of Burien in Washington State, south of Seattle, has a great old downtown section. They do a wonderful flower basket decoration on the old lightpoles every year.

Taken recently at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory. The amazing irony of a cactus in bloom! The flowers are very small, perhaps a centimeter or so, or less than half an inch.
