Yellow clivia

This graceful flower is related to amaryllis and is a bulb. I saw it growing happily in mass plantings in Mexico in the early spring, and here it was in Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania in May.

White dogwood tree

Last spring I was in Longwood Gardens outside of Philadelphia. Enjoy the light, as we are in our gray weather now, here in Seattle.

December bouquet

Snow is forecast so I went outside to grab the nasturtiums and whatever else showed some color.

Summer hydrangeas

Seattle’s gray weather can start to get to me. Here’s a glimpse of summertime, some blue hydrangeas.

Rose campion with raindrops

Here’s a shot from the other side of the year. Raindrops look good on summer flowers!

Bucket of roses

The weather in Seattle is supposed to get seriously rainy, after some very fine fall weather. The only thing to do is go out and cut all the open roses for bouquets, because they’ll only get destroyed. Bonus image below of the bouquets!

And here are the bouquets they made, on my kitchen counter.

Flapjacks

I think this is the cutest succulent I ever saw, in Edmonds WA, growing low on the ground, outdoors on a downtown street. With a name tag!
