Gray sky over the Conservatory

Rain was clearly on the way in this view of the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle from the back.

Almost looks like lightning, doesn’t it?

Blue sky in autumn

Last week there was some sunshine. It will come again!

Star light art

This lovely neon star art was even prettier reflected in the glass panes within the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle at the recent Lusio Lights event. Don’t you love the huge staghorn fern it’s nestled up against?

Illuminated quilt art

These pieced fabric panels (not really quilts), lit from behind, glowed so beautifully at the recent Lusio Lights event at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory.

Interlaken grapes

Our backyard grape vine is doing pretty well this year. We might get ten bunches! The raccoons decimated the plums but haven’t taken all of these (yet). So sweet and delicious. If you can, plant a grapevine.

Perennial sunflower

A friend gave me a start of this perennial sunflower plant last spring. It flowers in September: YAY!

Magnolia blossom with bud

Just for fun, a photo from the other side of the year. Should be perfect for our friends down under…

Dramatic sunset at the Cove

A few weeks ago the sky was incredible at sunset. The Cove in Normandy Park is at Puget Sound, so it’s salty but quiet water.

Forest scene

Last week went camping in Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Washington, not too far from Mt. Rainier. This was the view from our campsite one morning.
