Hello, dear blog readers. Various technical difficulties including changing web hosts are creating a break in my usual happy blogging. But never fear, not forever. Another week or so and we’ll be back. Here’s a pretty picture of my favorite place, Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory, with this year’s version of its lovely fall display on a dark day.

I think this is the cutest succulent I ever saw, in Edmonds WA, growing low on the ground, outdoors on a downtown street. With a name tag!

Today at the incomparable Volunteer Park Conservatory  in Seattle, the Corpse Flower (Amorphophallus titanum)is getting ready to bloom,

The so-called Corpse Lily, a giant, rotting=scented flower, will bloom quite soon

but what pulled me in were the nearby hydrangeas.

While visiting Anacortes, WA last weekend, we saw the most amazing natural rock mosaic structures in Causland Memorial Park. This appears to be a performance space.

I’m not really sure what to call this giant light fixture in the middle of the NCL Breakaway cruise ship. It’s several stories tall and the LED colors keep changing. Trippy, man!
