Scenic Sunday, here I come

Thought I’d try a new meme, Scenic Sunday (click HERE). Lord knows there are plenty of photos to choose from. Since I’ve been taking a camera everywhere for as long as I can remember, I have one or two photos. I wish I could throw some out. Digital makes me take far more, but at least helps organize easily. This one is scanned from a film print, taken in ’01 in Bodega Head, California. There are two little people on the rocks. Hope you like it.

A Watery and Wordless Wednesday

This is a morning view of Pyramid Lake in Nevada. Can you see the pyramid?

I’ve linked to a bigger one after requests but haven’t figured out how to get the medium size one to show here instead of the tiny one. Sorry! So click on the little one for a better view.

Watery Wednesday from Redondo marina

Here’s a peaceful late day photo of Puget Sound. It seems like Seattle is near the ocean, but if you look at a map, you might be surprised how inland it actually is. But lots and lots of water, nevertheless. For more Watery Wednesday photos, click HERE.

Watery Wednesday, Puget Sound

This taken from the Viaduct last month. It may be unsafe for earthquakes, but what views it provides! For more Watery Wednesday posts, click HERE. And it’s Wordless Wednesday as well.

Watery Wednesday, my first

Who can resist the lure of the coast? I read that 75% of the world’s population lives within 50 miles of an ocean coast. An amazing statistic, if true. I love to live near water, and here in Seattle that’s so easy. The two scenes of Puget Sound below were taken recently from the Normandy Park cove beach. Click HERE for more Watery Wednesday posts to see what others have done, and join in if you like.

Des Moines marina

We went to dinner at Anthony’s at the marina and afterwards strolled at the water. Why is twilight so beautiful?

Marin Fog for Skywatch Friday

This is a photo I took when back in California a year or so ago. Click HERE for more Skywatch Friday photos. I just love the way the clouds and strip of fog looks, plus it’s at my favorite time of day, the dusky twilight. Even though the focus is not as sharp as it could be, it is truly one of my fave photos.

My Birthday in Seattle

emp-detail.jpg
First we went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in the Seattle Center. This detail is of the Experience Music Project.

These tree roots are at the Seattle Center. Amazing! I wonder why they do that.
alki-beach-sky.jpg
Then a chilly walk on Alki Beach, for the first time for me. Even though the weather was windy and cold, especially the rain cloud that was not raining on us, yet, the scene was so beautiful. Can you see the group of ducks on the water?

Richmond Beach, near Shoreline, WA

Richmond Beach, near Shoreline, WA

Thought I’d take a break from flowers. This is Puget Sound in all its cloud and sky glory. You’ve got to like clouds to live around here. We were visiting a friend in Richmond Beach and it was brand new to us. Can’t beat a water view.
