Burien, Washington is a small city west of SeaTac Airport. Once a month they do an art walk in Olde Burien. This appears to be self-portraits by some local students. I love these paintings. I hope the artists don’t mind this post!

At that artwalk event the other day in downtown Burien (sometimes called B-tpwn), Washington, we were pleased to meet the grafitti artist “Sneke” who posed in front of the mural he helped create. This neat sculpture in the town plaza in downtown Burien, Washington sure looked good in the late day light the other day. I don’t know anything about it, but I like it. That red!

Note: Just found out that this sculpture is called Helios Pavilion. The B-town blog picked up this photo and ran some info about it. Now I know!

The Thursday Challenge is “SOMETHING DIFFERENT” (Unusual, Strange, Rare, Different, One of a Kind, Weird . . .). I didn’t think I had anything worthwhile, but then I remembered my sojourn at Burning Man in ’07 in the Black Rock, NV desert, the enormous week-long alternative arts festival. Now there’s a surreal event. Here’s only one photo. I hope you like it.

This fountain/art piece was somewhere in midtown Manhattan, not far from Rockefeller Center. If anyone knows the name of the artist or more about it, I’d like to know. I’ve never seen anything like it.
