Yellow brugmansia

Like my last post, this photo was taken exactly ten years ago at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory. I hear the fragrance in the evenings was incredible.

These flowers are so elegant and graceful, but I found it surprisingly difficult to get a photo that showed it. I hope this one succeeded.

Brugmansia at the Volunteer Park Conservatory

I took this photo exactly ten years ago, when the Ecuador Pink brugmansia, or Angels Trumpet, was in unbelievable bloom. Seattle’s beloved Volunteer Park Conservatory is still closed due to covid, but let’s hope for a reopening soon.

Cream brugmansia

Brugmansia, or Angels Trumpet, is challenging to photograph, although so very graceful and exciting in person. This one had a heavenly fragrance in the early evening.

Orange brugmansia

The weather has gotten too cold for this brugmansia (Angel’s Trumpet) plant to stay on the patio, so into the living room it has come until the warm weather returns. Every night the scent perfumes the entire house.

Yellow brugmansia

Went to fun Oktoberfest at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory and really loved the evening lighting on the blooming, heavenly scented flowers. No wonder they call them Angel’s Trumpets!

Deck with flowers

My friend Cindy has a fabulous garden and her deck is just amazing. This is just a tiny area of it! The time, money, effort, and knowledge she puts into her entire place really shows.

Notecard, Angel’s Trumpet

Here’s another notecard image. I love this one so much I used it on the cover of my book, “Flowers of Volunteer Park Conservatory.”

Brugmansia flowers

Scrolling through my photo archives, I found this image of huge, tropical brugmansia (Angels Trumpet) flowers from an August 2010 shoot at Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory. See how the buds are yellow but the open flowers are pink? Wild, no?
