Pink floribunda roses

At the Woodlawn Park Rose Garden the other day, some roses were just rioting in bloom. I didn’t get the names of all of those I photographed (bad Sara! I sometimes get too carried away with their gorgeousness) but here is a fine vision of pink floribunda roses for your enjoyment. If only the screen had a scratch ‘n’ sniff button!

Do visit Pink Saturday for more things pink. And you might try the Pink tag or search here, easily returning to the latest posts by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos.

This is also an entry for SOOC, or straight out of the camera, Scenic Sunday and Color Carnival. Have fun in blogland!

Late-blooming dogwood

This was taken just a few minutes before the shot at the overlook below. You can see the dusky skies in the background. Such sweet pink tips on the blooms, no?

Visit Macro Flowers Saturday if you like flower closeups. There are some great ones there! You are welcome to browse around here first, if you like. Returning to the main blog page is easy; just click on Sara’s Fave Photos.

Double Delight rose, again

I find these Double Delight roses irresistable. Their form, their magnificent coloration, their sweet and spicy scent just is perfection in a rose to me. I read that their unusual reddish edging, which is much darker in full sunshine and only a streaky (but still beautiful!) pink when the rose is blooming mostly in shade, was considered a flaw. How about that?

Visit Ruby Tuesday for more ruby redness of all kinds. If you browse around here, be sure to click on Sara’s Fave Photos when you want to get back to the latest post.

Patio flowers

Yesterday the sun peeked out for a bit and the flowerbed near our patio is at its peak, so here’s a photo for you to enjoy. The pink ones in front are Sweet Williams, a perennial, the blue ones are bachelor buttons which reseeded themselves, the spiky red stuff in back is penstemon, the magenta on silver in back is rose campion, the soft pink in back is astilbe, and the white on the left is a volunteer feverfew, great for bouquets. Visit Today’s Flowers for more flowers all around the world.

Peony petals

The peonies in my garden are finally in bloom and magnificent. These few in a vase were so long awaited and so much appreciated. They are an entry on the theme of “Soft” for Thursday Challenge and also pink for Pink Saturday.

Click on a couple of things if you have time but return to the latest post by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos above.

Peace rose

Here’s another perfect rose, bathed in raindrops. This is the Peace rose, always a fave of me and so many others. I love its creamy yellow petals, edged with the palest, sweetest pink, and its healthy, bright green leaves. Like all my roses, it is fragrant. Why else have roses?

Visit Macro Monday and Mellow Yellow Monday for two great memes of close ups and cheerful yellow photos, and SOOC for more straight-out-of-the-camera shots.

You can search this blog for “rain,” perhaps, and find other roses with water droplets on them if you like. Or how about a tag like “reflections”? Click on Sara’s Fave Photos above to return to the full blog.

Pink peonies

Finally the peonies in my backyard have bloomed! There are a couple of dozen out there, and I picked these. The smell of them in my office is heavenly.

Double Delight rose

This is not in my yard; they’re not quite ready yet at my place. But that same Wallingford garden a couple of shots down seems to be a bit earlier with what’s blooming. And I don’t see any black spot on the leaves, either.

All this rain has been tough on my roses, but the day or so of lovely sunshine coming up tomorrow may get them going. As soon as they look good, I promise some nice photos for you.

Chenille plant

This chenille plant, or Acalypha hispida, was growing in Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory recently. Isn’t it a fine and lovely thing, and don’t you just want to touch it?

Visit Ruby Tuesday for more rosy rubiness seen everywhere. And be sure to click on the Ruby Tuesday category and the Red tag at the left for more variations on the red theme right here. Sara’s Fave Photos on the header will bring you back to the full blog.

More pink peonies
