Winter scene in Purchase NY, guest image

A very fine winter scene of the melting snow by a relative who lives on the East Coast. I love this image!

Pagoda at Pt. Defiance Park

There’s a lovely Japanese garden at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, WA. In the pond is a brilliantly red (miniature) pagoda.

Arboretum pond

The pond at Seattle’s Arboretum, at the end of May. As far as I am concerned, you can’t get much more scenic than this.

Spring pond scene

It was exactly at this time of year when I took this spring scene at a park in Connecticut. Isn’t it just the picture of spring?

Color or sepia image?

In general, I am a fan of the most natural look possible of the natural world. I like photos because they capture a beautiful sight that I’d like to revisit. But sometimes, the lure of “art” beckons. I’d like your opinion. Which of the two images below appeals the most? Which would you like hanging on your wall? Thank you for your input.

Pond reflections

I’ve taken photos of this pond at Highline Botanical Garden, south of Seattle, before. This latest one was taken a week or so ago on my birthday. Wasn’t I lucky to have some blue sky and calm weather on my special day? Of course you’ve got to be quick, in a city where “sun breaks” is an actual weather forecast.

Lots of lovely blogs out there with other versions of photos with a theme. Willow tree reflections

My recent trip to the East coast included a few days in scenic Connecticut. Springtime is in full array there, with the trees leafing out, ahead of cool and wet Seattle. I love the reflections of the willow trees and bare branches in the mirror pond and hope you do, too. I’m calling it my my Best Post of the Week.

Pond at Highline Botanical Garden

Browsing through the archives for a water photo for Watery Wednesday, I found this photo of the pond at Highline Botanical Garden (north of SeaTac Airport) taken exactly two years ago. We had sun like this today but it was super cold out, with actual snow decorating the lawn this morning. I was so happy that I had this fresh-looking scene to share with you today.
