Carding Mill rose

One of the first roses to bloom this year in my garden is a David Austin rose, Carding Mill. The weather is still quite cool and rainy in Seattle, and my fifteen different rosebushes are taking their time to bloom.

Apricot colored, almost orange, Carding Mill rose with soft shadows and a raindrop or two.

Gardenia in the rain

I adore gardenias. They were my mother’s favorite flower.

Raindrops only add to the perfection of this intensely fragrant gardenia blossom.

Pink trees

The Seattle Design Center in Georgetown has some of the most magnificent pink trees I’ve ever seen. They are planting new ones, but they look so puny compared to the old giants. The first view is from inside the skybridge, which you can see in the second photo.

Apple in the rain

I posted a similar photo a number of years ago but you don’t mind seeing it again, do you? This columnar apple tree was in my backyard in a pot.

Collard leaf raindrops

I know I am not the first person to notice that raindrops can look like jewels, but really . . . don’t they?
