Lavender wreaths

My daughter is “crafty.” She saw all the lavender I have growing and decided we should make a wreath. She cut some willow for the base, tied it into a circle with jute twine, then added overlapping bunches of the fresh lavender while wrapping the twine. It worked! Here they are in my carport, drying.

Artichoke bouquet

The theme of Seattle’s NW Flower & Garden show seems to be edibles, even in the lobby bouquets.

Water-platter

This is a real water lily plant at Longwood Gardens, outside of Philadelphia. The sign said Longwood Hybrid Water-Platter Victoria ‘Longwood Hybrid.’

Flapjacks

I think this is the cutest succulent I ever saw, in Edmonds WA, growing low on the ground, outdoors on a downtown street. With a name tag!

Pink Japanese anemone

At the local garden club district meeting recently, garden flowers (horticulture) were on display.

Campfire

Last year when we went camping, there was a burn ban due to drought and fire conditions. This year, on the rainy Olympic Peninsula, fires in campsites were allowed. I had so missed it.

Cruise ship light sculpture

I’m not really sure what to call this giant light fixture in the middle of the NCL Breakaway cruise ship. It’s several stories tall and the LED colors keep changing. Trippy, man!
