Seattle skyline

I really like that all these Seattle buildings seem to be turquoise!

Fresh peaches

We went to Moses Lake WA for the first time, and I got to go to the Farmers Market and buy some fresh peaches. Is there anything prettier? I like this post very much and am calling it my Best Post of the Week.

Seattle ferris wheel

This summer a new attraction opened in Seattle at the waterfront, a huge ferris wheel. Do you see the two sports fields in my rearview mirror? So many curves in this photo! You can still drive on the viaduct past it, but not for long. I haven’t ridden on it yet, but I plan to. Even though the gondolas are enclosed, I am betting that the view will be spectacular. I will bring my camera.

Football lily

Football lily, or Haemanthus multiflorus, is a new flower for me. I found this in the Wave Hill conservatory, on my recent visit to New York City. I am including the second photo so you can see the fascinating green starburst, spiky bud form as well. The flowers were almost as big as my hand!

You might want to check out Today’s FlowersWeekend Flowers, Floral Friday, Ruby Tuesday 2, Macro Monday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Pink Saturday for more photos with a theme. Radish display

When I was a kid I didn’t like radishes—too sharp and spicy for me. But now they seem to taste quite a bit milder than they used to. I think they grow different varieties, or maybe my taste buds changed. In any case, aren’t they beautiful to look at, if not to cut into the salad?

Visit Ruby Tuesday and SOOC (straight out of the camera shots), plus Thursday Challenge (textures) and Color Carnival, for more interesting photos with a theme. And they are certainly wet, so hop on over to Watery Wednesday also. Before you go, be sure to check out a new tag or category here, or Free Photos right next door, for a fun browse. Devilled eggs

This is one from the archives. I remember it was a very hot day in northern California, and the eggs just looked so beautiful before we lit into them. I am glad I preserved them for posterity. I was just learning how natural light is so superior to flash, and this soft light really proves it.

Today’s Thursday Challenge is FOOD (Meals, Restaurants, Eating, Vegetables, Unusual Foods, Cooking, BBQs…). To return to the full blog with my latest post on top, click on Sara’s Fave Photos above.

Round

The Thursday Challenge theme is ROUND (Circle, Sphere, Curves, Moon, Clock, Coins…) and I thought this was a good one. Hope you enjoy it.
