Geese in a park

Got to visit the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden near the Ballard Locks in Seattle the other day. So lovely. Here are some large geese feeding on a lawn.

Irises and lilacs

From my front door towards the street, last week in late afternoon light, my favorite. Indeed the golden hour!

Spring blooms in the garden

The weather has been so very warm and sunny. I adore it but know the rhodies and dogwood won’t last long in this heat.

Pink dogwood at left, and red rhododendrons with pink weigela between them. Iris buds lower left.

Backyard in May

Here in Western Washington State, green with rhodies is the signature look for May. This is my backyard from my bedroom window yesterday morning.

Pink rhododendrons

The very small city I live in, Normandy Park, WA, is noted for its rhododendrons and evergreens. This was at my house yesterday.

A cedar tree maybe 300 years old in the background, and a pink rhodie with a dark pink throat.

Duck in creek

This mallard duck hen was looking fine at Country Village, in Bothell, WA. See post below this for a video of a few other members of her family.
