Blue salvia

A recent visit to Seattle’s Volunteer Park Conservatory had pretty blue salvia, a lovely annual, planted in the beds in front.

Bull trout

In the North Fork of the Skokomish River in the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, my eagle-eyed hubby saw these bull trout fish. They like clear, unpolluted waters (don’t we all?) and these looked to be almost two feet long. How many can you see?

Skokomish River scene

We went camping. Here is a view of the blue sky reflected in the beautiful North Fork of the Skokomish River on a late summer afternoon.

Pagoda at Pt. Defiance Park

There’s a lovely Japanese garden at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, WA. In the pond is a brilliantly red (miniature) pagoda.

Puget Sound and sky

I rarely post black and white images, but for this shot of Puget Sound from Redondo, WA, I will make an exception.

Raindrops on evergreen branch

Our brief camping trip last week was sadly rained out, but before we left of course I took some photos.

Boy at poolside

Friends have the most beautiful garden you can imagine, with a view that just won’t quit. Here is a small visitor checking out the pool on a warm evening recently.

Ohanapecosh River

We went camping last week, southeast of Mt. Rainier in Washington. At first the local river, the Ohanapecosh River (pronounced o-HANA-puh-cosh), was clear and gorgeous.

Then (bonus image time!) it rained very, very hard. Here is the same river, a few miles upstream, after much rain.

Seattle from Alki

The weather was quite cool and damp at the Alki Art Fair this weekend, but Seattleites are a hardy bunch and many came out to stroll and shop. Even gray skies can be scenic!
