Forearm stand

A very fit yoga teacher doing a forearm stand at a gym in West Seattle. I am in awe.

Antique radio

In a Thai restaurant in Ballard, a Seattle neighborhood, I saw this very old radio. Do you think it still works?

Kitty looking out of window

This is a cat we used to have who has gone to kitty heaven. Rose was a very good guard kitty. She used to make sure everything outside was as it should be. She is missed.

Museum room

While I was in the Seattle Art Museum the other day I took this photo of an empty room I’d never seen. I hope that was OK. Pressed for time, I didn’t get to read anything about it. A recreation of a European room, perhaps from the Renaissance? What a lovely feeling it gave me.

Lovely lichen

I love lichen (pronounced LIKE-en) and was happy to see this pretty piece of it on a wooden fencepost on a walk in the neighborhood.

Chair near elevator

I love this image. I don’t really know why, but I do. Hope you at least like it, too.

Coupeville pier

Coupeville is one of the oldest towns in Washington, I am told. We were here last year at this time. Don’t you just love the starry diamonds on the water?

The Maiden of Deception Pass

On our camping vacation to Deception Pass State Park in Washington, we stayed in the Bowman Bay area and hiked to Rosario Beach. What fun! The coast Salish native peoples carved large images, not totem poles, and this image of the legend of Maiden of Deception Pass was made for the Samish people by Fidalgo Island artist Tracy Powell in 1983. It is perhaps 20 feet tall! You can see the waters of the Pacific Ocean in the background.

I am participating in A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Dahlia bouquet in green vase

I was lucky enough to be given a gift of a green Depression glass vase. I am thrilled! The green is my favorite color, and it’s in perfect condition. Here it is with a bouquet of dahlias, picked after the big rain last week toppled a tall, brittle stem that was covered with blossoms. Sometimes I find it hard to cut as many flowers as I want, but if they’re down already, I am exonerated of all guilt.

Shadow Sunday at the pier

Finally some decent weather, so with an extra ten minutes, I ducked out to Des Moines (WA) pier and found some actual shadows, courtesy of actual sunshine. Felt great to be in the light like that. For more fascinating shadows, click HERE.
