Yellow mums

These yellow chrysanthemums were in the entryway of the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle a week or so ago. Their full mum display hasn’t begun yet, and I can’t wait! I’ve always loved their spicy scent, so crisp and definitely a fall kind of smell.

Visit Mellow Yellow Monday and Macro Monday for things both yellow (the former) and closely seen (the latter), although not everyone does it in one photo like I tend to do. Also, check out the colors at Color Carnival! I really like it when a photo of mine fulfills the theme of several memes at once. That’s efficiency!

You might try a new tag or category while you’re still here. How about “yellow”? And remember, you can always get to the complete blog by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos, here or above.

Apricot roses

Thought you’d like to see some roses from this summer, taken on the Federal Way Garden Tour in July. Seattle may have a lot of cloudy, gray weather, but the summers are glorious.

Visit Flowers for Today for more blooms around the world. It has neat shadows, so I’m entering it in the Shadow Shot Sunday meme, too. It’s straight out of the camera, or SOOC. And you’ll find more brilliant color in Color Carnival.

I totally love the sunlight and shadow on these perfect blooms, so I am tagging this post my Best Post of the Week.

If you’ve arrived via a link or a search, you can find the complete blog at Sara’s Fave Photos, here or above. But try a new tag here, first. Maybe “orange”?

Cedar tree

This huge old cedar tree is what I first loved about this house. It’s actually hard to take a good photo of a tree, especially such a big one. This photo is hot out of the camera, as the weather cleared up nicely this afternoon and I just shot it.

Enjoy more shadows at Shadow Shot Sunday, the Hey Harriet blog. Scenic Sunday has more endlessly varied scenery.

While you’re here, you might try a new tag or search “tree” for other photos you might like. Or the My Garden category? To get to the latest post here, always click on Sara’s Fave Photos, here or above.

'Elizabeth' dahlia

Last week at the Pike Place Market there were about a zillion kinds of dahlias, along with truckloads of armfuls of sunflowers and even some late oriental lilies perfuming up the place, all grown locally by the vendors. What a show. I now have a new favorite dahlia, called ‘Elizabeth’. To me it’s just the prettiest thing. I think those are white asters along with the dahlias.

Visit Pink Saturday and Macro Flowers Saturday for more exciting photography in blogland.

Sunset over Dungeness Bay

From our August camping trip at Sequim, Washington (in the north Olympic Peninsula)—a misty sunset for you. Can’t you just smell the clean air?

Visit Skywatch Friday for skies seen around the world, Scenic Sunday for great scenery, SOOC for straight-out-of-the-camera shots, and Weekend Reflections for very cool visual reflections.

You can always get to the latest post and the full blog by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos here or above. And try something you haven’t seen yet. How about the “Waterscape” category?

Little waves

I was at the Normandy Park cove with my dear cousin and it was calm and peaceful there at the shore of Puget Sound. Perhaps you’d like to hear the little waves splash on the beach?

Visit Watery Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday for more photos on a theme. I hope it’s OK to link to them with a video instead of a still photo.

Colorful peppers

If you love peppers you’ve got to get down to the Pike Place market and see the peppers. What a display! Is there anything prettier than a pack of perfect peppers? Last year I bought a string of them and they dried nicely to use in soups and stews all winter long.

I love this photo and am tagging it Best Post of the Week.

Visit Ruby Tuesday and Color Carnival for more great photos on a color theme. And this one is straight out of the camera, or SOOC. While you’re here you might as well try a new category. Vegetables/Fruits, perhaps? And to get to the latest post here, you can click on Sara’s Fave Photos, here or above.

Yellow cactus flower

This beauty was taken this summer at the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle. Such delicacy contrasted with the massive strength and armed protectiveness of the cactus itself.

Visit Cactus Monday, Macro Monday and Mellow Yellow Monday for more neat photos with a theme.

As long as you’re here, try a new tag or category, or a search, for things you like. Returning to the latest post is easy; just click on Sara’s Fave Photos here or above.

Yellow trees

Most of the trees around the Seattle area have not turned color much, but this parking lot was all golden yellow leaves. I love how the curb paint is the exact same color. Do you think they chose the trees planning the coordinated autumn show?

Visit Mellow Yellow Monday for more photos with a splash of yellow. If you click on that tag below the photo, it will bring up lots of other cheery, yellow-themed posts. Visit Scenic Sunday for more great scenery.

Succulent shadows

All cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are cacti. This is a succulent plant maybe a foot (35 cm) or so across that I found on a recent sunny day at the Volunteer Park Conservatory. So vigorous and strong looking!

Visit the Hey Harriet blog for more Shadow Sunday posts, and SOOC for more straight-out-of-the-camera shots. But before you go, be sure to try a new category or tag here. Always get back to the latest post easily by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos, here or above.
