Dramatic sky

The cloudy, rainy weather has finally ended, for a little while. Here is a look at the western sky over the campus of Highline Community College, in Des Moines, WA on Monday evening as the clear skies approached. See the rain still falling in the distance?

Peacock window

This large peacock window over the entrance to Seattle’s beloved Volunteer Park Conservatory on Capitol Hill is the original window, and over one hundred years old. It is beautiful on sunny days and on gray and rainy ones as well.

Photos from Peru

It’s travel weekend, here at Sara’s Fave Photos blog. The pictures below were taken in Peru by my cousin Aurora, the daughter of Sheila, who just went to Hawaii. Peripatetic family! I have never been to Hawaii, but I truly loved my visit to Peru many years ago.

In Case of Zombies

At Seattle’s NW Flower & Garden Show (NWFGS), one of my favorite gardens had this sign, “In Case of Zombies, Or Yardwork.” We’re all set, now.

Commercial space

In a commercial building that is not fully leased, I saw the light pour in. It gave me a good feeling.

Dresses in window

At the recent Paper Dresses show at the Bellevue Arts Museum, photos weren’t allowed of the incredible creations. But could I help it if a photo of their reflecting pool out the window showed some of the magnificent display as well as the buildings of downtown Bellevue, WA?

Museum room

While I was in the Seattle Art Museum the other day I took this photo of an empty room I’d never seen. I hope that was OK. Pressed for time, I didn’t get to read anything about it. A recreation of a European room, perhaps from the Renaissance? What a lovely feeling it gave me.

Seattle’s Great Wheel

Still haven’t gone up on the huge new ferris wheel in Seattle, but here’s a photo of it at dusk I took last week. The LED lighting on it up plays in many patterns. You can see the viaduct, soon to be no more, at the bottom.
