Bouquet close up

I picked a bouquet of mostly red flowers today. ‘Double Delight’ rose, a very dark burgundy day lily, and a little ruby red ‘Lucifer’ crocosmia in my back yard, for you.

You can see the pollen on the day lily petals…

Squak Mountain Nursery

A delightful nursery, new to me, in Issaquah, WA. Don’t we all need more hanging baskets?

At the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle, some very unusual foxgloves blooming in the Seasonal House now.

Not your average garden foxgloves (digitalis)

Rose garden

In front of my house, the rose garden is in its first flush. The red rose is ‘Proud Land’ and the lavender plants are blooming well nearby.

The roses of early summertime.

‘Julia Child’ rose

Oh the joy, two new rosebushes for an anniversary gift. This beauty is ‘Julia Child,’ named in homage to the queen of butter.

Butter yellow rose, as it should be, named after American icon Julia Child. And sweetly fragrant as well.

Snowfire rose

The roses are getting started very nicely.

Blood red petals with a snow white outside of the petal make Snowfire rose a real standout
