Burien rainbow

Even a plain old rainbow is worth looking at. March is definitely rainbow month around here. Hope you enjoy this one.

It’s a stretch to say this qualifies for Watery Wednesday, but all that water vapor has to be in the air, right? No water, no rainbow. Other neat places to check out are Scenic Sunday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Mellow Yellow Monday, Outdoor Wednesday, Skywatch Friday and Wordless Wednesday. Thanks for visiting here!

Spring flowerbed

I do like watching what the pros plant. This flowerbed of spring bulbs and pansies is such a vibrant color combination. I usually think of spring as pinks and pales, but this makes me rethink that. What do you plant for spring in your own garden? Deep colors, or Easter-y ones?

Why not pay a visit to Scenic Sunday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Outdoor Wednesday, Today’s Flowers, Weekend Flowers, Floral Friday, Mellow Yellow Monday or Ruby Tuesday 2? You can click on the Sara’s Fave Photos banner above to see all the photos here. And since Google Friend Connect is ended for non-Blogger sites, I invite you to follow this blog with the widget at the right. Thanks!

Sunset with Space Needle

Everybody loves sunsets. It’s just one of those human things, I guess, to love a beautiful thing that lasts but a moment. This sunset with Seattle’s iconic Space Needle in it was a silver lining, you might say, when I was trapped in traffic going down a big hill. I watched as the sky turned from gray clouds to pinkish and then peak at a deep coral with lavender undertones, and was able to stick my camera out of the side window and have at it. Just for Skywatch Friday!

Other fun memes in blogland are in Scenic Sunday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Pink Saturday. Definitely worth a visit. Do browse around here first. If you have arrived via a link, click on the Sara’s Fave Photos banner above for the complete blog.

Moss in the Pacific Northwest

They say if you stand still long enough in the Pacific Northwest, moss will grow on your nose. I don’t know about that, but the stuff on trees and in lawns is pretty spectacular. Green, green, green! Naturally, the rainiest months (September through June) are the mossiest. I’m calling it my my Best Post of the Week.

You might want to browse some of the meme entries in Scenic Sunday, Outdoor Wednesday, Watery Wednesday (not much visible water here, but so moist!) and Wordless Wednesday. You are always welcome to check out a new tag or category right here. If you have arrived via a link, click on the Sara’s Fave Photos banner above for the complete blog.

Daffodil buds in sunlight

Daffodils have such great buds. I love the way they look like tapered fingertips with green fingernails. Maybe? Anyway, their strong reach towards the weak late winter sunshine is so much appreciated. They are promising springtime!

Lovely places to visit include Scenic Sunday, Today’s Flowers, Macro Monday, Macro Flowers Saturday, Weekend Flowers, Floral Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, Shadow Shot Sunday 2 and  SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera). Thank you for visiting!

Pond at Highline Botanical Garden

Browsing through the archives for a water photo for Watery Wednesday, I found this photo of the pond at Highline Botanical Garden (north of SeaTac Airport) taken exactly two years ago. We had sun like this today but it was super cold out, with actual snow decorating the lawn this morning. I was so happy that I had this fresh-looking scene to share with you today.

Bare trees against the sky

Here’s a pretty little scene for you, even though many trees are still dormant. Signs of spring are around, but the still-bare branches do have their beauty.

As you might know, Google Friend Connect has vanished from all non-Blogger sites. Darn! Please follow this blog on the sidebar at the right with the new Linky Tools. Thank you.

Please visit Outdoor Wednesday, Scenic Sunday, A Piece of Heaven,  SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera) and Skywatch Friday. Thanks for browsing around here first.

Dyes Inlet, WA reflections

Yesterday I was lucky enough to spend a bit of time out near a big expanse of water, in Silverdale, WA. Doesn’t being by the water both energize and soothe you? A very powerful and wonderful feeling. I’ve read that a huge portion of the world’s population lives within 50 miles of an ocean coast. I can understand that.

I particularly like this photo because it appears to be black and white (monochrome) but has no adjustment from RGB, is just straight from the camera on a gray late winter’s day. I’m calling it my my Best Post of the Week.

You might check out Outdoor Wednesday, Watery Wednesday, Scenic Sunday, A Piece of Heaven, Weekend Reflections,  Shadow Shot Sunday 2, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera) and Skywatch Friday. Lots of photo talent out there! But do browse around here first, perhaps clicking on a new tag or category, or trying a search. Cloudscape, perhaps?

Winter sky

The overlook in Normandy Park, Washington is just a neighborhood road at which you can gaze out at Puget Sound and see the sky. Sometimes the light shines on the water so beautifully. This is what it looked like the other day.

Visit Outdoor Wednesday, Watery Wednesday, Scenic Sunday, A Piece of Heaven, Weekend Reflections, and Skywatch Friday. You’ll be glad you did. And do browse here first if you have a few minutes.

Here’s a scenic photo for you; the view from a coffeeshop deck in Poulsbo, Washington. Ah, the sights of August! Can’t you just smell the fresh air?
