This graceful flower is related to amaryllis and is a bulb. I saw it growing happily in mass plantings in Mexico in the early spring, and here it was in Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania in May.

Last spring I was in Longwood Gardens outside of Philadelphia. Enjoy the light, as we are in our gray weather now, here in Seattle.

Last year when we went camping, there was a burn ban due to drought and fire conditions. This year, on the rainy Olympic Peninsula, fires in campsites were allowed. I had so missed it.
