Bigger aquarium

We have four pretty goldfish with fancy fins and pearly scales, and they were getting too big for their ten-gallon tank, so we moved them to a 30-gallon aquarium. Here’s a photo of them in the smaller tank, and below that are two videos of them, first in the smaller tank and then right after their move to a larger home.

Here are two videos of the before and after. Note how they do not swim into the new, larger area just yet after the move.

Near Staircase campground

Not too long ago we went camping at Staircase, on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, and took a hike near the river there.

Water and birdsong

This beautiful short video clip was taken at the North Fork of the Skokomish River in Washington. Note: Locals call it “the Skoke.” Turn up your sound so you can hear the bird chirping.

And here’s a still photo of water rushing nearby

Bull trout

In the North Fork of the Skokomish River in the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, my eagle-eyed hubby saw these bull trout fish. They like clear, unpolluted waters (don’t we all?) and these looked to be almost two feet long. How many can you see?

We went camping. Here is a view of the blue sky reflected in the beautiful North Fork of the Skokomish River on a late summer afternoon.

Puget Sound and sky

I rarely post black and white images, but for this shot of Puget Sound from Redondo, WA, I will make an exception.

Ohanapecosh River

We went camping last week, southeast of Mt. Rainier in Washington. At first the local river, the Ohanapecosh River (pronounced o-HANA-puh-cosh), was clear and gorgeous.

Then (bonus image time!) it rained very, very hard. Here is the same river, a few miles upstream, after much rain.
