Perennial bachelor buttons

It’s too wet right now to go outside and find something blooming that looks nice enough to show you here. Only my fave photos get posted! Thought you’d like to see these pretty blue/purple flowers, a very sturdy grower and great cut flower. This perennial bachelor buttons or Centaurea montana (also called Mountain Bluet) was growing in my garden in May. I think they might be in the thistle family, and related to artichoke plants.

Participating in: My Romantic Home, Today’s Flowers, Floral Friday, Macro Monday, Weekend Flowers, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera) and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. If you only see one photo below, you might click on Sara’s Fave Photos Blog above or a tag at right to see many other pretty flowers. Thanks for stopping by!

Pike Place Market peppers

If you’ve ever gone to Seattle’s iconic Pike Place Market in the fall, you know to visit the pepper sellers. Every year they create these little works  of art, some with their primary colors even brighter against blue tarps. They are so pretty! Each year I buy one and use the peppers all year in soups and stews. You can make a LOT of spicy stew with one of these babies.

Participating at Mellow Yellow Monday, Scenic Sunday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Ruby Tuesday 2, Outdoor Wednesday and Macro Monday. If you see only the peppers photo below, please click on Sara’s Fave Photos Blog above for all the others. Thanks for visiting, and come back soon!

Arboretum path

Just a week or so ago, before the rain came, this stretch of Seattle’s Arboretum was glorious in the sunshine. Shall we take a stroll to that tiny bench in the distance?

Orange hibiscus

I went to the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle today. Be sure and see the Angels Trumpets (brugmansia) before they are finished blooming! I like brugmansia so much that I put them on the cover of my book. Look for a post about the ones I saw today soon.

As usual at the VPC, there is much beauty to see. This flame-colored orange hibiscus really caught my eye. It felt like I was in Hawaii!

You might visit Mellow Yellow Monday, Macro Monday, Today’s Flowers, Floral Friday, Flower Art Friday, Weekend Flowers, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Ruby Tuesday 2 for more interesting photos around the planet. As always, if there is only one single photo below, clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos Blog above will reveal the latest images. Try it!

Dumas Bay Center view

A few weeks ago I was at a charity event at the Dumas Bay Center in Federal Way, Washington. It’s right at the water, of course, and the broad lawn is perfect for outdoor celebrations. Hope you enjoy view.

I’m participating in A Piece of Heaven, Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Do a search for Path or Tree while you are here? Thanks for visiting and please, come back soon.

Fort Ebey, WA

This old fort on Whidbey Island in Washington used to watch for Japanese invasion in World War II. You can still see the bunkers and where the big guns were, just in case. Now it’s used for parasailing and the occasional tourist. Wonderful space that made me happy.

Participating in Skywatch Friday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Scenic Sunday, and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Thanks for visiting and come back soon.

Shoreline at Deception Pass

The view from the bridge at Deception Pass on Whidbey Island in Washington is beautiful, and not just the far distances. Catch the shades of green on this moss at the rocks just north of the bridge!

Check out Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Scenic Sunday. If there’s a photo meme out there for water, I’d like to know about it. I really miss the old Watery Wednesday.

Orange daylilies

That tea last week was really quite a photo opportunity for someone like me. Flowers, teapots, and shadows everywhere! I’m calling it my Best Post of the Week, but the one below of dusk at Bowman Bay “floats my boat” as well.

View other neat images at My Romantic Home, Flower Art Friday and Flowers on Saturday (new memes for me), Macro Monday, Outdoor Wednesday, Weekend Flowers, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), Floral Friday, Scenic Sunday, and Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Garden Tea

The pretty teapot two posts below needs some context. The scene and day was so lovely, I thought I’d show you the deck and tables all set out. Let’s have a tea party!

Participating at Pink Saturday, Scenic Sunday, Shadow Shot Sunday 2, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC Sunday (straight out of the camera), and Ruby Tuesday 2. Thanks for stopping by.

Petunias, pansies, and a birdhouse

My friend with the pretty hostas can do flowers so well. Here’s a sunshiny shot of the flowers on her shaded deck. Yes, there were cookies and iced tea, too!
