Amazing puffy clouds

The other day the clouds were just wild. I know it’s not safe to snap photos while driving, but sometimes it’s just imperative. I was blown away by the huge, towering forms in the deep blue sky. It looks like it was raining under them, but all was sunny and gorgeous where I was.

Flat fountain at McCaw Hall

This fountain near McCaw Hall, home of Pacific Northwest Ballet, is unlike any I have ever seen. The water seeps flatly over smooth pavers into the drain across a very wide expanse. Perhaps people walk barefoot in it during the summer. I’ll have to check back on a warm day!

Visit Watery Wednesday, Outdoor Wednesday, SOOC (straight-out-of-the-camera shots), Weekend Reflections, Thursday Challenge and Window Views after your visit here. Be sure to browse around, if you have time, and click on Sara’s Fave Photos to return to the main page.

More pink dogwood

We’ve had mostly very gray skies lately, and cool temperatures, but we did have a sunbreak or two and I got to get this photo of our pink dogwood tree.

Visit Today’s Flowers for more flowers seen round the world, Color Carnival for more brilliant color, SOOC for more straight-out-of-the-camera shots, and try Scenic Sunday, too.

Dogwood and dark sky

Spring has very dramatic weather changes and I love how the sky looks when it’s sunny here and threatening there. Hope you enjoy this pink dogwood tree in my backyard taken earlier this week.

My yard

The top photo shows the tulips around the rosebed in front of the house, with our neighbor’s house behind them. It was a good idea to plant them there as the roses haven’t got going yet. This year the roses will be early and have set buds already, at least some of them.

The next one is taken from near that neighbor’s house, looking towards the side and backyard of our house, showing that big old cedar tree. Don’t those old rhodies look good? If they had fragrance I’d love them even more.

View of Astoria, Oregon

There’s a wonderful column, a tower, really, in Astoria, Oregon at the mouth of the Columbia River. You can climb it and the view is just as you expect, magnificent. This was taken at this time of year but a couple of years ago.

Go to Watery Wednesday for more fascinating photos of water, and Outdoor Wednesday for, well, you figure it out. Remember, you can always click on Sara’s Fave Photos above to return to the full blog with my latest post on top.

Water ripples

A few weeks ago it almost felt like summer, or certainly spring, but the last few days it’s been more like winter: cold, rainy, and gray. So for a cheerful shot of water I went to the folder with the pictures from that lovely, sunny day at the Highline Botanical Garden in early March.

Visit Watery Wednesday for the water thing, and Outdoor Wednesday for more outdoor scenes. This is a good one for Weekend Reflections, too, plus it’s straight out of the camera, not even cropped, or SOOC.
