Shoe display Las Vegas

While I was in the Las Vegas trip archive yesterday, I found this shoe photo. Perfect for Ruby Tuesday! I love to look at them but go for comfort in my own shoes. I’m always amazed that anyone actually walks in them.

Red mums with yellow centers

Welcome to the very first post here on the new site, Love That Image. It so happens that this is the 751st post, so there were 750 in the old location. That’s quite a few in two and a half years. I must like posting photographs or something. Please do let me know how you like the new design and set-up. Be sure to browse in the Free Photos section for more searchable photos to use on your projects if you like.

Just for a break from holiday decorations, here’s a pretty chrysanthemum plant from a few short weeks ago. I do love the way they smell, so spicy and distinctive.

Visit Mellow Yellow Monday and Macro Monday, plus Color Carnival and Ruby Tuesday, for more great photos. And always check to see if this is the latest post by clicking on Sara’s Fave Photos, here or above.

Summer dahlia macro

All I want is some sunshine, so this dahlia flower photo will have to do. The stripey petals are called striated, I believe. Isn’t it a cool effect? This was an annual type, so it’s forever gone, but that’s why photos are so great, to me at least.

Visit Mellow Yellow Monday, Macro Monday, Color Carnival and Ruby Tuesday for more interesting and creative photos.

We’re getting very close to the launch of the brand new blog site! I’m very excited. Your browser should just bring you to the new site, so no worries. Soon!

Do click on Sara’s Fave Photos if there is only one photo here. And while you’re at it, try another category or tag, just for fun.

Holly tree berries

The U.S. Pacific Northwest has an interesting climate. Even though it’s quite far north, the ocean currents and the large amount of straits, bays, inlets, rivers and other water features gives us quite temperate weather, although mostly cloudy. The temperatures vary here less than any other place I have ever lived. We are lucky that certain broadleaf evergreens like the holly tree flourish here.

This large tree in my neighborhood, perhaps 5 or even 10 yards/meters tall, has wonderful berries, but I noticed that they begin fairly high up. I am pretty sure that is due to people helping themselves to these very attractive holiday decorations. I was tempted.

Visit Ruby Tuesday for more splashes of red, Outdoor Wednesday, Scenic Sunday and SOOC for more straight-out-of-the-camera shots. If the berries is the only photo here, click on Sara’s Fave Photos for more.

Red berries

Here’s some early Christmas decoration for you. I’m not sure if these are holly berries or what, but they sure are pretty, aren’t they? They were at the Pike Place Market in Seattle not too long ago.

Visit Ruby Tuesday and Color Carnival for more colorful photos. SOOC has more straight-out-of-the camera shots, too. Outdoor Wednesday is showing Xmas decor, indoors and out. And if you see only this one photo here, please click on Sara’s Fave Photos for the complete blog with lots more photos you might like.

Japanese maple leaves

Well it’s snowing hard outside, so winter is truly here, calendar notwithstanding. But here’s one more look at the glorious colors of autumn, taken just a week or two ago. Aren’t those red stems great? I like them so much I’m calling this my Best Post of the Week.

Visit Macro Monday and Mellow Yellow Monday if you’d like more close ups and more cheerful splashes of yellow, and Blue Monday for more blue shades. Ruby Tuesday has more exciting reds. Color Carnival is always a fun browse, too. Taking a look at other straight-out-of-the-camera shots is fun. And if there is only one photo here, be sure to click on Sara’s Fave Photos to see the rest of ’em.

Autumn leaf

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a leaf with colors like this. Some kind of maple, for sure. I took this in the open shade, on a sunny day right after a lot of rain, so the wet road is actually reflecting the blue sky above it. Believe it or not, the color is totally accurate, or SOOC (straight out of the camera).

Do visit Ruby Tuesday for more photos with red as a key component, Mellow Yellow Monday for yellows, and Macro Monday for more close ups. Color Carnival has more bright colors.

As always, if there’s just one photo here, click on Sara’s Fave Photos for the whole blog.

Fall bouquet

From a couple of weeks ago, a bouquet of dahlias and late zinnias at the Pike Place Market. My plan is to go every month throughout the year to see what flowers they have, as they may only sell local flowers that they grow themselves. I know that soon it will be the dried arrangements, but for now there are still fresh blooms.

Visit Ruby Tuesday to see more photos with great reds, and Color Carnival for more brilliant colors.

Pepper strings

These strings of hot chili peppers on display outside the Pike Place Market are just the coolest thing. Their colorful brilliance and abundance thrills me. This time I had to buy a string, ready for soups and stews this winter.

Visit Ruby Tuesday for more perfect reds, Color Carnival for bright colors, Outdoor Wednesday for outdoor things, and SOOC for more straight-out-of-the-camera shots. And do visit Best Post of the Week, for other people’s fave posts.

Late garden bouquet

The weather in Seattle was so cool for most of the summer that the cosmos didn’t get going until the end of September, and they are supposed to be summer annuals! The good part is that those flowers, so late in starting, are now blooming like crazy, so my backyard border (shown from my bedroom window) is filled with huge bushes of cosmos, taller than I am. The roses are few but company coming called for a bouquet.

Visit Ruby Tuesday for more ruby redness gracing all kinds of photos. Color Carnival has more bright colors. Scenic Sunday as always shows us scenery around the world. Windows and Doors has lots of ’em, creatively seen. And SOOC has more straight-out-of-the-camera shots. A new meme, Monthly Garden Bouquet, features photos of blooms from your garden.
