Sara's Fave Photos Blog

Check out my new book, Flowers of Volunteer Park Conservatory. And welcome to Sara's Fave Photos Blog at Love That Image. My goal is to take a photo that is as compelling and beautiful as in real life, with no or minimal Photoshop work. You may copy a photo but link to lovethatimage.com. Orange crocosmia

A beautiful flower, extremely adaptable (almost invasive!) but so very graceful. Good in bouquets, this crocosmia (also called Montbretia) is also found in the taller, all red version “Lucifer.”

Yellow cherry tomatoes

Yellow cherry tomatoes are such stars of the food garden. Their little stem caps even look like stars.

Planter flowers with coleus

This display of shade-happy plants is a skillful combination of colors and textures, don’t you think? Some unknown floral designer did a fine job.

Mt. Rainier and anvil cloud

It’s been a scenic week. This amazing, huge cloud shaped like an anvil decorated the sky near Mt. Rainier just a few days ago, taken from the overlook right near my house.

Lavatera flower

In a West Seattle friend’s backyard, macro of a flower of a lavatera shrub. What showy, crinkled, ruffled flowers, each one as big as a small apple, and so joyful!

Sky with rays

Leek flowers

I let some leeks in my garden flower. Why some are white and some are purple, I do not know, as all the leeks seem to be the same earlier, at harvest time. Don’t you love the round balls? Bees sure do.
