Before the main event at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, even the roadside produce stand got into the act with these potted tulips, harbingers of tulip ecstasy to come.
Visit Macro Monday and Mellow Yellow Monday for more close ups and yellow splashes of cheerfulness. And Blue Monday covers the other third of the color wheel for us! Color Carnival has more brilliant color, of course. Ruby Tuesday has lots of red, red, red for you.

I was in the back yard a couple of weeks ago, admiring the magnolia tree in the late afternoon light, when I saw the moon in the sky. Thank goodness I try to keep my camera in my pocket at all times!

I really like the way the clouds and the magnolia blossoms both seem to dance. I’m calling this one my Best Post of the Week. Hope you agree.

There’s a wonderful column, a tower, really, in Astoria, Oregon at the mouth of the Columbia River. You can climb it and the view is just as you expect, magnificent. This was taken at this time of year but a couple of years ago.

Our Japanese magnolia tree out back has been so beautiful this year. I took these photos in the last week. Which do you like the best? The top one (#1)? The bottom (#5)?
Visit Blooming Friday for more things flowering now (and sadly the last week for this great meme), Pink Saturday and Macro Flowers Saturday, too. Click on Sara’s Fave Photos above to return to the full blog with my latest post on top.

Yesterday was one of those cloud days. Every time I looked at the sky, amazing and wonderful clouds were there for my personal enjoyment. The challenge is to be where you can take a photo, hopefully without lots of telephone wires, etc., ruining it. And you’ve gotta be quick!
This is downtown Burien, showing those new condos near the new library. Don’t they look smashing with that great sky setting them off?

A few weeks ago it almost felt like summer, or certainly spring, but the last few days it’s been more like winter: cold, rainy, and gray. So for a cheerful shot of water I went to the folder with the pictures from that lovely, sunny day at the Highline Botanical Garden in early March.
Visit Watery Wednesday for the water thing, and Outdoor Wednesday for more outdoor scenes. This is a good one for Weekend Reflections, too, plus it’s straight out of the camera, not even cropped, or SOOC.

And you know what that means. I was lucky to see this scene down at the waterfront near Pike Place Market. Who wouldn’t be inspired by the scenic Puget Sound surroundings, complete with ferry, and weather like this?

Even though lenticular clouds mean rain is coming, we love them so much. They look like flying saucers or hats, or generate all kinds of whimsical ideas. This recent view of Mt. Rainier from the overlook near my house had the special addition of a plane flying right over it.
Today I have the honor of being Guest Host on Skywatch Friday. Go see all the wonderful sky photographers listed there.

We went to Salty’s Restaurant at Alki at my favorite time of day. The weather was unusually clear and lovely, and the view couldn’t have been more perfect.

Recently Seattle was blessed with two warm, sunny days. I was so happy to be able to be outside and in a garden space. This was at the Highline Botanical Garden, and yes, that is the blue sky reflecting in the water.
Visit Weekend Reflections for more fascinating and creatively seen visual reflections.
I’ve also tagged this as Best Post of the Week. I love this one!
