Boysenberry leaves

I have a couple of thornless boysenberry plants. Their leaves are doing the fall showoff thing.

Hardy fuchsia macro

Yesterday I went outside to bring in all the plants that needed to come in ahead of the arctic weather we’re having right now, and took a few minutes to enjoy the bright sunshine and the last, last flowers blooming.

Yellow alstroemeria

From the archives. These yellow alstroemeria flowers, or Peruvian lilies, are wonderful even if they have no scent, and very long lasting in a bouquet. Very easy to grow, too.

Nail art

Passing by a Hispanic beauty salon in Burien, I saw these decorated nails in the window. My goodness gracious.

Bigger aquarium

We have four pretty goldfish with fancy fins and pearly scales, and they were getting too big for their ten-gallon tank, so we moved them to a 30-gallon aquarium. Here’s a photo of them in the smaller tank, and below that are two videos of them, first in the smaller tank and then right after their move to a larger home.

Here are two videos of the before and after. Note how they do not swim into the new, larger area just yet after the move.

Bromeliad and slug

I took this photo because of the pretty center that looks a bit like a baby bird beak, and only realized when I reviewed the photo in my computer that there was a baby slug taking a drink!
